Family Day - Monday, February 15, 2016.

The tradition continues! Presented by Genworth Canada, we invite you to join the Town of Oakville, Oakville Public Library, the YMCA of Oakville and community partners as we celebrate Family Day!

The Town of Oakville’s eighth annual Make Your Move Family Day will once again offer a full slate of free activities and special events for all ages and abilities on Monday, February 15, 2016.

Learn and get moving with more than 100 activities to choose from. You can get a sneak peek of the great events and activities we have planned for the day.

Free skates and swims
Helmets are recommended. Hockey sticks, pucks and equipment are only permitted during specific activity times. Skate and helmet rentals are available at Maple Grove (cash payments only), River Oaks and Sixteen Mile.

The recreational swim admission standards apply to all free swims. Wristband policy will be in effect. Wristbands for admission to all combo and leisure swims will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. at program locations.

Please note: Events subject to change. Height and capacity restrictions may apply. Some activities have additional equipment requirements. Wristbands available at the pool desk for all leisure swims starting one hour prior to each swim on Family Day. Wristbands available in front of the identified workshop studio starting one-hour prior to each workshop on Family Day.

Toopy and Binoo – Vroom, Vroom, Zoom for Ages 3-7
Puppeteer Frank Meschkuleit (the voice of Toopy) brings the wildly popular "Toopy and Binoo Vroom, Vroom, Zoom" to life. Filled with interactive stories and music from the TV show, Toopy and Binoo form an inseparable duo who enthusiastically live life to the fullest. Our two mischievous characters embark on adventures of discovery in their world and invite children to participate in these adventures with their heroes.

Sponsored in part by Paradiso; tickets for the performances are free and can be picked up at the entrance to the Black Box Theatre one hour prior to the start of each performance. Maximum of five tickets per person. Spaces are limited. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Canada 150 Mosaic Mural Family Day Workshop
The Canada 150 Mosaic Mural Project commemorates Canada’s 150th Anniversary by bringing together 150 communities and thousands of participants to create community murals that visually reflect the history and culture of Canada. Once complete, the community murals will be virtually connected to form one gigantic mural mosaic with a railway theme connecting the country from coast to coast.

Oakville's mural will be composed of 750 tiles, each measuring four inches square that will be painted by Oakville residents. You don’t need to be an artist – just bring your love of Oakville along with your enthusiasm and creativity! Available at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre only. Wristbands available in front of the identified workshop studio starting one hour prior to each workshop on Family Day.

Stay for lunch!
A variety of food options will be available at select locations. Proceeds go to the Town of Oakville RecConnect Fund, which helps families in need participate in recreation programs.
